2004 Ocean Waves Sheng Puerh
Description
Very smooth and full-bodied pu-erh with a lovely sweet and spicy taste and aroma. Proper shamanic medicine.
It comes from Da Xue Shan (Big snow mountain), known for a lot of old trees which are very very clean (not just the Tea itself but also its neighbours are not sprayed with any agrochemicals).
Good taste, pleasant hint of bitterness, strong and deep aftertaste.
The wrapper says “Millennial Old Tree”. And look at those leaves! So gorgeous, makes me salivate just looking.

“These teas are incredible! I’ve never experienced anything like it. A great addition to my spiritual practice for sure.
Meditation
This Tea doesn’t come with a poem as usual, but with the song that inspired its name

Chris Saunders –
As the description said deep shamanic properties. This was a heart centred tea that offered wonderful visuals during movement practice. Took me by suprise. Very tasty and easy drinking even for beginners to these teas

Drinking this tea was a subtle experience of transformation. The texture starts out bold and rich, mineral and herbaceous, then shifts to the sweetness of raw honey, and back to mineral, algal, and fresh. The body sensation began quite strong for me, a feeling of energy that transitioned to tranquility. I’m recovering from a head cold as I write this, and the tension and congestion that I felt this morning gradually dissipated during meditation with this tea, moving to a sense of well-being.

My first order from Enlightenment Tea comprised of two teas: Ocean Waves and Beginner’s Mind. Both are excellent teas. Beginner’s Mind truly blew me away (I’m about to order more). Ocean Waves has a Qi that’s soft, mild, and delicious… suitable for days where I’m looking for more subtlety, in contrast to the powerful zing of Beginner’s Mind.

Another deeply comforting tea. I find this one particularly appropriate for the late afternoon and evening time due the lack of stimulation and more of a deep, relaxing type quality. As always, brilliant for meditation.
