This might have been the very first Tea I drank (that reduced me to speechless stillness and instant love with Tea) and I want to pass its teaching and lineage on to you. Enjoy!
Optionally with a hardcover copy of “Zen mind, Beginner’s mind” by Zen master Shunryu Suzuki. As this book is sold out we’ve only been able to source “Used, like new” copies. I heartily recommend the book as inspiration for your pre and post tea sessions, and to keep your Beginner’s mind alive.
A classic Changtai cake from 2004 containing wild old tree material from Yiwu, this is probably the best priced cake for meditation that Changtai has to offer in this period.
Well aged flavour (minor astringency and bitterness only) with a very powerful Qi at great price, with space to evolve even more when stored over the years, great both to drink now and to age.

Just continue in your calm, ordinary practice and your character will be built up.
If your mind is always busy, there will be no time to build, and you will not be successful, particularly if you work too hard on it.Our unexciting way of practice may appear to be very negative. This is not so. It is a wise and effective way to work on ourselves.
In fact, this is the sudden way, because when your practice is calm and ordinary, everyday life itself is enlightenment.

Every time I drink Beginner’s Mind, my whole body is suffused with a clarifying energy… it’s a remarkable tea that is as delicious as it is energizing. This tea has become one of my very favorite Sheng Pu-erhs, among a couple dozen that I have at hand. Beginner’s Mind can take quite a number of steepings. More than once, I was delighted to get a bonus infusion or two from overnight leaves the following day.

I find myself going back to this one as a ‘go to’ tea. Really smooth, easy to drink. Great qi, but not overpowering. Suitable for all times of day, in my experience. And of course, a great tool for meditation as with all the teas on this site!

Very laid back tea, nothing is out of place. I could easy drink this tea everyday!
As usual Enlightenment Tea have selected another amazing cake for Qi and at a perfect price point, I think I need to grab a tong of this while i can. Another 5 years will do great things to this cake but definitely suitable to drink now.
